Bethany the Brave

Recently on Facebook, I read the story of Bethany, a brave 11 year old fighting Stage 4 melanoma.  Her story is both heart-breaking and remarkable.

Unfortunately, Bethany has departed this Earth and joined the ranks as an angel, to watch over us.  This is what her family wrote on FB when she passed away (it's pretty incredible).

"Bethany Rene Cobb, child of the One True King and on loan to us from our Savior is now with her Father in Heaven who came to take her home at 3:15 pm, Tuesday April 8th, 2014. She went peacefully in the arms of Jesus with many loved ones around her. While we are in much pain over the fact that we will miss our sweet girl, we are also at perfect peace knowing that she is with the ONE who loves he...r like no other, experiencing JOY like we will not know fully until we too arrive at our eternal home as children of GOD! How would we be able to cope without the promises given in the scripture for those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior?

John 14:1-3 - Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself that where I am you may be also.

Bethany accepted the Lord as her personal savior in the summer of 2011. Therein lies the peace that passes understanding and the reason we know with complete confidence that she is at home with our Father in Heaven!

As always, continue to pray for us as we cope with missing Bethany but know that our God is Greatly to be Praised and continues to be with us even today. We feel His presence! We pray for you all as well, as we know many of you have become attached to Bethany and hurt as well! Most of all, we pray that each of you know Jesus as your Personal Savior and will join us and Bethany one day in Heaven to celebrate with her!

We Love you all, In Christ! Steve, Kelly, Rachel, Anna, Cassidy and we know Bethany is asking God to be with us and you all during this time."

I am so incredibly touched by the strength and faith of her family.  I can't even imagine what they are going through right now, yet I also know the peace and comfort they must be feeling so strongly from our Father above.  I am also grateful for the knowledge that Bethany's family has that they will be reunited with their daughter again!
